Beginning in Spring 2025, Gompers Park restoration projects included:

NATURE PLAYSPACE:
Approved with 2022 Participatory Budgeting ($50,000) but had been on hold for 3 years due to the encampment. Planned for area west of basketball courts in center of 200-year old oak trees for young children to explore and engage with creative play and nature.

LAGOON RELINING:
Chicago Parks District planned maintenance to replace the Lagoon lining and water feature maintenance.

PULASKI PARKING LOT:
Next to the recently renovated basketball court, it was resurfaced.

LITTLE GOMPERS BASEBALL FIELD:
Phase 1: 2023 Participatory Budget project ($150,000) to resurface field and repair.
Phase 2: Solar Scoreboard, Solar shades around dug-outs, Player and Coach Training Clinics.

FUTURE PROJECTS:
Community members submitted ideas for future park developments and events including a native garden and festivals upon full restoration of the park.
